February :: Book of the Month :: Gone Girl

As soon as I started reading this book I loved it. It was such an interesting story, the kind that I liked so much I didn’t want to put down. I really liked how Gillian Flynn wrote the chapters from the perspective of the different characters and dropped interesting details along the way that made more, and more sense as the story went on. Then I got to the ending…I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who hasn’t read it yet (and it would be a good beach read) but, I was really disappointed with the ending. It almost felt like the author procrastinated on writing the ending and her editor was calling her continually bugging her to finish, so she just wrote the ending quickly and without a lot of thought. For how good the rest of the book was, I was so shocked and unhappy with the ending. With that being said, I would pack it in your beach bag this summer as the majority of the book is great.
