Hard Knocks a Hit!

It’s that time of the year again when HBO gives behind-the-scenes access into the preseason life of an NFL team. This year we get a closer look at the New York Jets and their well-know, outspoken coach, Rex Ryan (or “Sexy Rexy” as Tony Kornheiser likes to call him).  The idea of the show is great since so many fans of the league have wanted to see the “real deal” with the players and coaches, not just watching them compete on the field. Chad Ochocinco was the start of last seasons series with the Cincinnati Bengals, but this year the entertainment will come from not only Ryan, but LB Bart Scott, QB Mark Sanchez, C Nick Manigold, RB LaDainian Tomlinson, and a number of other players and coaches as the Jets have really opened up to HBO; they put it all out there and didn’t hold back anything. The first episode aired this past Wednesday night and I was glued to the TV screen because I didn’t want to miss anything that might come out of Rex Ryan’s mouth – he is brillant! A great coach, a great guy, and truly a good mentor to all the guys. I don’t want to give too many details about what was funny, what was interesting, etc., because I encourage everyone to watch it and experience the 2010 Jets for themselves. If you don’t have HBO you’re in luck! You can watch the first episode on HBO’s website (http://www.hbo.com/hard-knocks/). The Jets haven’t won a Super Bowl since Broadway Joe predicted they would in 1969 , but the way things are looking Sexy Rexy might lead the Jets to another Lombardi trophy!
