This past Sunday was very busy: a birthday party followed by a housewarming party. With both of those taking place for the majority of the day, I needed something quick and easy to make for dinner. So, I turned to my beloved crock pot! This week we made Pulled Pork sandwiches, and they were delicious!
Here’s how we did it:
Put about 3 lbs of pork into the crock pot with some chicken broth and chopped onions. We let it cook in there for about four hours (until the pork was tender, but not overcooked/dry).
After that, we pulled out the pieces of pork and “pulled” them using two forks. Because the pork was so tender, it pulled very easily and took no time at all.
Then in a bowl, we mixed the pulled pork with lots of BBQ sauce (if you want something a little spicier, try using a spicy BBQ sauce).
Then, we put the mixed up pulled pork in the oven for about 30 minutes (on 350).
That’s all it took for some delicious sandwiches. Even better were the leftovers we had on Monday for dinner – and they were just as delicious as when we first made them on Sunday!
Enjoy!
That looks so good! I tried pulled pork for the first time when I was doing a road trip in the USA last summer, I loved it, must try this recipe – it’s the first one I’ve seen that doesn’t take about three days to cook!
The best part (besides not taking long to cook) is that you can pick any BBQ flavor you’d like! I also heard that instead of using chicken broth in the crock pot you can use beer if you’d like. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard good things.
Let me know how it turns out for you!
